I have been doing Graphic Design work for 10+ years. When I first went to college at Marshall University I entered not knowing exactly what I wanted to pursue professionally. After a brief tour of the Graphic Design Department I knew this is what I wanted to do. I found that it combined a lot of my passions such as skateboarding, music, and technology all into one field. As my college career went on I was happy to find that not only did Design suit me but I really, really like it.
While at school I started learning 2D and some 3D animation techniques to broaden the kinds of things I could make. I was employed immediately after graduation with the Marshall University Medical School where I put those skills along with my design degree into action.
After finishing my time with the medical school I was hired on as a graphic designer at Bulldog Creative Services where work today. In my time at Bulldog I have learned quite a bit about working with different media and working within a team-based environment. My curiosity about what the other teams did led me to pick up some very useful skills. In my time working with the production team I learned how stage scenes (lighting, lavalier mic setup), shoot head shots, and record main camera and b-roll. With the web team I picked up some front-end HTML/CSS skills.
Combining all of these skills/techniques has been so much fun and added a lot to my work and the scope of what I can do as an individual or in a team situation.
